on my way...

Wow… what a year! Seriously, I could not have asked for a better freshman year of college. It’s been so fun, filled with memories, good people, new experiments and so much more! It’s weird that today I am in the library for my last time as a freshman EVER studying for 2 finals tomorrow! The people I have met this year have made this year by far the greatest. My roommates, bishopric, professors, library friends, random connections that my mom knew, Logan creepsters, and of course the most important.. My friends.

It will be so weird leaving these people for the next 4 months, I have become SO close to some of them I really don’t know what I’m going to do without our late night talks, random study sessions in the library, or laughing fests. Ah… it’ll be so weird. However, I know that in 4 months I’ll be reunited with these people and all will be well again. Here are some favorite pictures from the year!

Enjoy!

i didn't think it was April snow brings May flowers...

It's snowing here today.
Good thing I'm going home in 5 days.
I like the sun.
Can't handle much of anything else on April 25.

recycled granola

I love Utah State because people are so "hippy." It's not often you find that schools in Utah are hippy material. But I came to the one that is the most hippy.
I love that people wear tye-dye.
I love that Bob Marley is people's favorite.
I love that people don't care what people think about them.
I love that students sit on the grass all day long just doing their homework.
I love that the headbands that tie around their head are in style here.
I love that "Earth Day" is a big deal.
I love that recycling is so in.
I love that main way of transportation is the city bus or longboarding.
I guess what I'm really trying to say is....
I just love this school.

"good luck with the girl"

On Friday, Madison and I headed down to SLC to pick up our friend Melissa who is studying abroad in Mexico right now. Her older brother is getting married on Saturday, so she came back for the wedding! It was so fun to be able to pick her up though! :) Us three are all living together next year, with a couple other girls! it's gonna be so much fun! :)

but funny story while we were at the airport:
Madison and I were just sitting in the chairs waiting for Melissa to get here, and this old guy (like 75, a straggle tooth, no hair, ect.) comes up to me and this is the conversation:
Him: Are you girls gonna be here for a while?
Me: Well, we are just waiting for our friend so just until whenever she gets here.
Him: (sits down next to me) I've just been on my feet all day long, so it feels good to sit.
Me: Oh yeah, i bet
Him: This airport has changed so much since i've last been here
Me: Oh yeah? how long has it been
Him: About 3 years
Me: oh wow! Where are you from?
Him: Clearfield (30-40 min from the airport)
Me: oh, i see. Yeah, i bet it has changed quite a bit.
that was that part of the conversation... and madison and i continue to talk...
Madison: Nat, do you realize that we haven't seen Melissa in 5 months?
Me: I know, it's so weird. I'm excited
Him: I've never seen the girl i'm picking up.
Me: (turning my head to him in shock) Oh really, How do you know her?
Him: We met in a chat room and have talked on the phone everyday for the past year.
Me: (trying everything i can do, not to laugh, especially not look at madison) Oh, wow. That's cool. Are you excited?
Him: yeah, i figure since we've been talking for a year, that it's time to meet in person, so she is just coming to spend some time her with me
Me: That'll be fun! where is she from?
Him: Dallas, she should be her soon
(Madison then gets up from the chair to look at the TV screen to see if Melissa's flight has arrived)
Me: So, how do you know what she looks like? Have you seen her picture?
Him: Oh yes! we've exchanged pictures and things.
Me: That's just fun!
Our friend Melissa come running down the airport so we sprint off to see her! As we walk past this guy, i wave and say... "good luck with the girl"

Seriously, it was so funny! if only you could see this guy... it was quite the airport entertainment. I wish i could have seen what she looked liked. I wanted to stay and stalk him a bit, but then i thought... creppy!

Today, i went on a sunday walk and laid in the grass by my place because the weather was SOOOO nice! (i think my arms got some color even) on the walk i thought i'd take a snap shot of this... recognize it?

grandma and grandpa's old house! I run past it at least twice a week and i reflect at all the good memories I had there as a child! :)

Overall, entertaining weekend. It's gonna be weird to leave it all for the summer! only 10 more days!

drip drip drop...

When it rains in Logan, which it has a few times within the past couple of weeks... I like it. It smells good, it's green and lush, the sun glistens off the street like a diamond, and the "pah pah" sound on the window as I fall asleep is so soothing. Besides all of the good stuff the rain brings there is something I'm not the most fond of, and that is the worms that randomly appear everywhere! I'm not even joking you, I walk around campus and on the sidewalk there are tons of worms just chillin on the sidewalk waiting to be trampled. It really grosses me out. The first time I saw them I though it was just wet twigs from the trees everywhere, but I have figured that they aren't twigs. I kinda wish they were.

j to the ungle

Yes. I have it bad.
It gets me around campus.
At the gym.
On TV.
Watching a ball game.
I can't seem to get rid of it.
It makes me weak inside.
I wonder why me?
Usually it's out of my league.
It causes a double take.
The worst symptom is loss of words.
Have you guessed it yet?
I have a fever. not any typical fever though...
Jungle Fever.
