This past weekend my family went up to Utah. Robbie was in-between BYU camps, and Mom had her 35 year high school reunion, so we decided to make a trip out of it! We had a blast, went to park city for a couple days, Logan for a day, saw our cousins in Kaysville, and headed down to provo as well. It was lots of fun. Good memories, fun activities, too much food, alpine slides and the new coaster, zip-lining, nice weather, beautiful green scenery,  sleep, late night T.V. in the hotels, visit to grandparents graves, visited with friends. Good times.

sibling love!
Shauna and I Zip-Lining. It was sooooo much fun!
this mountain was named after me... ha!

i love my dad.

Many people are thinking today what a great man there Dad is. But I win. Mine is the best! Seriously, I try to think of words to describe him and they just come and flow like no other. Kind, Teacher, Loving, Caring, Bishop, Patient, Supporter, Coach, Spiritual, Humorous, Peaceful, Hard Worker, Priesthood Bearer, Intelligent, Selfless, Humble, and so many more. I love my Dad. There have been times in my life when he had made me laugh when I've been sad, Given me great advice... Go AGGIES, Raised me in the Gospel, Taught me how to play basketball, Been and example to me in everything,  and Tells me he loves me.
What else could I ask for.... see I win. He is the BEST out there!
Happy Father's Day!

leave a message after the beeeeeeeep.

So I'm pretty sure that everyone has at one point in there life hung up the phone and said "That was the stupidest message EVER!" It is the worst, you wish somehow you could break into the persons phone and erase it and leave a whole new one. Well, last week sometime, I had to call a member of my bishopric to tell him I can't talk because I'll be out of town the weekend he wanted me to. So I called after FHE on monday night and it was ringing and ringing and no answer, and suddenly I realized I was leaving a message. Honestly, the worst message of my life. Instead of being "I am calling to let you know I can't speak in church on the 28th, because I don't have to work so I am gonna go with my family to Utah. Let me know if we can reschedule. Bye." I said something along the lines of.... "I'm just calling to tell you that I can't speak the sunday you wanted me to, uhh... Give me a call back and I'll tell you why. Thanks, Bye."
Call me back and I'll tell you why..... Who Am I? Some mysterious person who needs to personally explain the 2 second story. It was the worst.
Luckily he called me back while I was at work the next day and  left a message on my machine so I didn't have to talk to him. He just said, "Thanks for letting me know, We can reschedule some other time... blah blah blah." No big deal for him, right!
I kinda wish the old old days were back when no one even used answering machines or called ID, then there would be no screening calls, it's either you answer or you don't. No freaking out if the boy you likes name pops up on the screen. You have to just call back and keep trying to catch them if they don't answer. No 5 minute messages explaining unnecessary stories.  No calling people back. No stupid messages left on someone else's machine!
Sometimes the old days just seem SO much simpler!

I LOVE

beeeeeeeep.

So I went to enrichment on Thursday night with my Mom and Shauna. The enrichment was really good. "What do you do in the summertime?" It was just facts, meals, and stuff about things to do for the summer! While one of the people was in the middle of presenting fun things to do in the summer I suddenly heard a "beep, beep, beep, beep, beep", I turned to Shauna and said... "Is that a bomb?" We looked around to figure out what the beeping noise was, and we were happy to find out it was just Mom who accidentally put her timer on her camera while taking a picture.
I was glad there was no bomb at enrichment night.

ten more minutes.

yes, I have the curse.
I start a book and once I'm into it CANNOT put it down.
The bad thing is, I start reading for the day around 11:00 pm.
I read, read, read, turn a few pages, and next thing I know it's 12:30 am.
I tell myself 10 more minutes, or until the end of the chapter.
Next thing I know its 1:05 am.
I have to use all the energy I have that late in the night to set the book down and rest my eyes.
I wake up in the morning later than I had planned, and have to get a quick start on the day.
Because I know the very next night I'll be doing the same exact thing.
oh... the joy of a good book.

The air you breathe.
You can only hear the pantings of your own breath.
Shoes hitting the pavement.
Music ringing in your ears.
The time to think with no distractions.
Conquering feeling you get when you accomplished your goal.
I miss running... it's just the greatest.
